Profile
Jonathan grew up in Yorkshire, studied English at Durham University before qualifying as a Chartered Accountant in London. He also has Doctorate in Business Administration from Henley Business School.
Jonathan spent over 25 years in the media and entertainment industry, working internationally in senior executive positions for Universal, The Really Useful Group, EMI Music and Macmillan Publishers. This included seven years in overseas positions living in New York, Madrid and Los Angeles.
In 2013 he took a career break to return to his passion for language and litererature, completing a PGCE at the Institute of Education and spent two years teaching English A-Level at Esher College. Since then he has worked primarily with two large schools groups (Alpha Plus Group and Academies Enterprise Trust) advising on strategy, governance, technology and risk.
Jonathan has a strong interest in education sector reform, especially in the use of technology to make the teaching profession more rewarding and sustainable, and in the reform of curriculum and assessment to reflect more equitably the realities of surviving and thriving in the 21st century.
