Claire Grimes

Director for Professional Learning and Development

Claire Grimes is the Director for Professional Learning and Development for Skinners' Academies Trust. She joined the Trust in September 2023 having been a Vice Principal of a large secondary school in Kent. 

Claire has been in education since 2008 where she began her career as an English teacher. She has since gone on to work in a range of secondary schools in various leadership positions. Passionate about improving the life chances of young people through evidence-informed practice, Claire has developed significant expertise in Teaching and Learning and Professional Development. As such she has spoken at numerous educational events and delivered training both online and in person for multiple schools nationally and internationally, working with a range of organisations including ResearchEd, The National College and STEM Learning. 

Claire is the author of the highly successful book Rosenshine's Principles in Action: The Workbook. She has achieved her NPQH and now delivers both the NPQLT and the NPQLTD. Claire is thrilled to be a part of the Skinners' Academies Trust and to work with teachers and leaders to help achieve the best outcomes for our young people.
